Tuesday Motivation: THE DEVELOPER

Brian Acton had an Ivy league education. He had learnt from the best at Stanford. He went on to work for big companies at the time such as Yahoo, Apple and Adobe. He was good at what he did.
After he left Yahoo with his friend, Jan Khoum, he decided to go work at Facebook. He got rejected despite his vast knowledge and expertise. So did his friend.

Out of a job and rejected, he didn't let pull him down. You can see the positive attitude in his tweets. He put on his thinking cap.  He thought of a messaging app, he and his friend, Jan spent time and resources working on it. The app was ready so they put it out there.

Years later, the same Facebook that had rejected him from working at their company in 2009, bought Whatsapp for over 19 billion dollars. That is Facebook's greatest buy till date. Imagine if he was working at Facebook if he'd have thought of this app or had to time and drive to work on it.

Brian went from a man who wasn't worth millions, slaving his life working for others, faced rejection upon rejection to slave for them to a man who used his rejections and turned his life around into a billionaire.
When next you get rejected, think about Brian Acton.
