HAPPINESS AND COUPLES’ FULFILLMENT

I woke up this morning pissed after I had heard that the Oil marketers had decided to cheat innocent Nigerians out of enjoying the yuletide season by hiking the fuel price.

My displeasure turned into laughter when I read in the Punch Newspaper that Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has appointed twenty-eight new commissioners. That is not funny, I know. The funny part is the name of the new ministry he just created out of nowhere and placed his biological sister at the helm. The ministry is called

‘HAPPINESS AND COUPLES’ FULFILLMENT’.

Yes! You read that right. Let me rewrite just in case you didn’t; HAPPINESS AND COUPLES’ FULFILLMENT’.

I have been laughing and just can’t stop. This is the same governor that has been owing civil servants for months and spent millions erecting the statues of African presidents.

Now, money will be spent in setting up this ministry and employing people to work there. (supposedly)

This if you ask me is just another ploy created to siphon money from the state.

This new appointment makes no sense. Ok, let’s be generous and say the appointment is a genuine one. How does she intend to create happiness and couples’ fulfillment? Is she a counselor? A family therapist? A sex therapist? A psychologist? What exactly qualifies her and makes her capable of inducing happiness in the lives of the people of Imo state?

This is just pure balderdash! There are many things Mr. Governor could have done to make the people happy this Christmas; pay them what he owes them and do the job that he has been elected to do and not this obvious corrupt creation of his.

Dear Governor, please get your priorities right.

First of all, do explain to us the expected duties of this new commissioner of yours and if you vetoed it or the house was in on it. If you plan on creating another fake post please look for a better name for it and make it sound legit.

Am I late to the party or is this ministry an old one? Does it exist in other states?
