PATIENCE AND TIME.

Patience, that ability to wait, to endure, to tolerate, is really a virtue. I know that very well maybe better than most because I lose it sometimes. Sometimes, patience can seem like stupidity but it is
not. Why do I link patience with time? It is because the two go together. To have patience, you have to wait and that waiting is time. Time that seems like it is slipping away but in the end it pays. You have patience when your spouse cheats and barks at you, turning your dream of a blissful marriage into a nightmare but you hold on, showing love, praying and still caring for them that is patience(it's stupid but it is patience). Patience is when, life hits you hard, you have tried everything to make money the right way, you are hardworking and all that but still the fortune never comes, you live in abject penury, you still continue working hard and never try making that money the wrong way.

Patience is when you have a friend everyone sees as evil but you alone see the good in him or her and you stick with them. Patience is when, you are young, scared and pregnant but you carry that pregnancy for nine months, despite the changes your body goes through, the fear, you do the time. Patience is letting go of something you really want especially when you do not feel like it but you give yourself time. Patience is when you start something from scratch, pour time and effort into it, and watch it grow, even though it may take more time than you thought it would. Patience is watching your child grow and not being sure what their future would be, the wrong choices they would make but you love them through it all.
Patience is being humble to your superiors even when they pick on you and delay your promotion for no just cause, they make your life hard but still you have patience with them, accept and not utter a word in anger. It is not knowing if the person you are with is the one but you put your all in, waiting for time to tell. It is not knowing whom you would turn out to be but you take each day at a time and tell yourself time will tell.Patience is knowing and believing you will get to your desired destination, though it seems slow, you keep pushing on.
Patience is a whole lot of things for everyone.
Now, you can see why I say without time, there is no patience. Time tells it all, time heals, time grows things and being patient is time. They can never be separated from the other.

There was a time that whenever i heard, "the patient dog eats the fattest bone", I smirked and would ask what happened to the meat on the bone? isn't the meat more delicious than an empty bone? Lol.
Impatience brings about a whole lot of things; worry, strife, stress, anger, jealousy, envy, bad thoughts and decisions, etc.

Patience is also faith with action even when the desired goal isn't visible.
I pray for the virtue of patience, to remember that for the things we cannot change and tell, we wait for time to and know that God knows our future and if you are not religious, destiny will.

Thank you for reading my thoughts. What are yours?

  2. Encouraging and inspiring Frances. It's hard to wait but understanding can make it less hard. Right now I need to activate patience concerning an old client who has come back after ignoring my terms of engagement the last I did a job for her. Let's see how it goes this time. I am armed with lesson learned. 😊

  3. Great write-up Frances. Keep it up. I like that part where you wrote: 'It's stupid but it is patience'. It actually seems stupid sometimes when we accept certain unfair situations in our lives, not necessarily because we're powerless to do anything about them, but because we want to forgive and help ourselves and others to learn and grow.
